A little bit about your teacher!

Hi everyone, I'm Joey. I was born and raised in Durango, Colorado. My husband, daughter, and I now live in Mancos, Colorado. I have my Master's in Education along with a degree in Sustainable Agriculture. My love for nature and learning beside children has come together to bring you this camp. After years of teaching in the public setting, my daughter was born and the decision to stay home was made. We now enjoy helping others find their love of creating.

Why art camps? I love watching children find their medium and fall in love with art. From wood carving to making things from the earth, we will dive into all sorts of fun. Your child doesn't have to believe they're creative to join us, but they will leave feeling otherwise! While there will be inspiration for the day—a chosen medium to teach about—there will be freedom to expand beyond that medium and mix things up.

What Sets Our art camp apart

We are outside

Weather/Wind permitting-All classes will be held outside under our pergola. If needed we can move to the greenhouse where we will still be surrounded by plants.

Movement is a must

We like to move and create! We encourage all children to move as they create and will even take breaks to head to our outdoor play area.

Small group setting

Our art camps have limited space to ensure every child receives the attention they need and the environment stays calm. We work hard to keep our camps focused on quality over quantity.

CAMP INFORMATION

Let creativity run wild! This summer, kids ages 7-11 are invited to explore art through the lens of nature at our hands-on Wildwood Summer Art Camp.

Each class blends mixed media art, weaving, painting, sculpture, and more. We will use natural materials and inspiration from the outdoors every day! We will experiment with color, texture, and technique while building confidence and curiosity. We’ll wrap up each workshop with outdoor play to move our bodies and let ideas percolate.
